Over the last 14 years of working with new families, I often hear from new parents who are worried about knowing whether how they're feeling is normal as they face the everyday challenges of caring for a tiny new human.
There isn't always a space to talk about the tricker things after you've given birth, and that can feel really isolating. You may be worrying about how you are bonding with your baby or not enjoying your maternity leave quite how you thought you would. This can feel really upsetting and confusing, but these feelings are actually very, very common. Everything has changed and it can be hard to find your feet, and figure out what you want to do in the face of all of the information and advice you find yourself confronted with.
I wanted to create a space to have these conversations.
Over these four weeks, I'll be sharing some useful things to know about how you can nurture your emotional wellbeing after having given birth, and ending each session with a guided relaxation.
After each session I'll share a pdf with you of the topics I covered, some journal prompts or ideas for reflection and a recording of a guided relaxation or meditation to use in between sessions.
Babies who aren't yet mobile are fully welcome, but if you'd like to come by yourself that is also totally fine.
This is aimed at mothers and parents who've given birth and/or are the primary caregivers, as both these experiences bring specific challenges.
The next four week block runs from Friday 19th April 2024, 10:00-11:30 am at Yoga at the Reach on Ecclesall Road, S11 8TH.
The price of this four week course is £39, and is payable on booking.
